Terms

Terms of use and supply

These terms govern the use of this website and, unless and until a signed subscription agreement says otherwise, the supply of the Obsign service by OBSIGN LIMITED (company no. 17398095, registered in England and Wales). Last updated 3 October 2026.

1. What Obsign is, and is not

Obsign is a supporting computerised system of record for consignments of controlled substances. It records what its users enter, applies the controls described on this site to those records, and produces documents and reports from them. It is not a regulatory authority, a licence, a permit, a customs or logistics service, a quality management system or legal, regulatory or quality advice. Obsign does not read or judge the contents of a document, does not confirm any document with its issuing authority, and does not submit anything to any authority on your behalf.

2. Your responsibilities

3. Evaluation Workspaces

An Evaluation Workspace is provided free of charge, for made-up data only, one per company, with the limits stated on the sign-up page. It must not be used for a real shipment or hold real regulatory records. We may close an Evaluation Workspace that is inactive, misused or opened in breach of these terms, and its data is not carried into an operational organisation.

4. Subscription, billing and term

The service is licensed per licensed site at the tiers described on the Pricing page or in your subscription agreement, with unlimited users and consignments. Fees are invoiced by email and are payable in pounds sterling within the period stated on the invoice, exclusive of any applicable taxes. No payment is taken on this site. Either party may end a subscription at the end of its agreed term by written notice; we may suspend access for non-payment or a material breach after notice, and we will say so in the product when an organisation is suspended. On termination you may export your records in the open formats the product provides, and we will delete or return them as your agreement requires.

5. Your data

Your records remain yours. We process them only to provide, secure and support the service, and under the data processing terms in your agreement. Obsign holds no patient data by design. Customer data is stored in the European Union; the application is served from the United Kingdom. We use a small number of subprocessors for hosting, database and storage, and transactional email, listed in the schedule supplied with your agreement and available on request. Records needed for the audit trail are append-only and are retained for the life of the organisation's subscription and any period your agreement specifies afterwards. Our privacy notice for visitors to this site and for account holders is available from access@obsign.co.

6. Security

We apply the measures described on the Data and security page, including two-step sign-in on every account, per-organisation isolation enforced in the database, private document storage with short-lived access, and an append-only, hash-chained audit trail. No system is free of risk: you are responsible for your own devices, networks and people, and for the documents you choose to upload.

7. Availability and support

We aim to keep the service available at all times and will give notice of planned maintenance where we can. Service levels, support hours and response times are those in your subscription agreement. The status page reports the deployed release and the health of the service.

8. Changes to the service

We improve Obsign continuously. Where a change affects a control, a document or a report, we provide release notes and, for Assurance subscribers, a validation addendum describing what changed and the evidence behind it. We will not remove a capability you depend on without reasonable notice.

9. Intellectual property and acceptable use

Obsign, its software, documents, designs and marks belong to OBSIGN LIMITED or its licensors. You may use them only to use the service. You must not copy, resell, reverse engineer, scan, overload or interfere with the service, attempt to access another organisation's data, or use the service to break the law in any jurisdiction.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, Obsign is supplied as a tool that supports your own controls, and we are not liable for a regulatory outcome, a detained or refused shipment, a loss of product or market, or any indirect or consequential loss, however arising. Our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the fees paid for it in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or as your subscription agreement states.

11. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If a signed subscription agreement, order form or data processing agreement conflicts with these terms, that document prevails. We may update these terms by publishing a new version here with its date; continued use after that date is acceptance of the change. Questions, requests for the privacy notice or the subprocessor schedule, and notices go to access@obsign.co.
